Emily Patterson
Emily Patterson holds a Master of Laws in Rule of Law for Development from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in addition to a Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from St. Edward’s University.
Most of her legal experience has been in field of public international law, including advising on international human rights and governance in countries emerging from conflict and transition. She has worked in field missions in Kosovo, Somalia, Georgia, Montenegro, and the Philippines for organizations such as the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the European Union, and the United Nations. In addition to her work with Rodgers Selvera, she advises on Russia-Ukraine sanctions. In her early lawyer days, she worked in criminal defense.
Emily is a founding board member of the PROLAW Alumni Network. She has previously served on the board of the Midtown Super Neighborhood #62 and as Co-Chair of the American Bar Association International Refugee Law Committee. She has also provided pro bono legal advice in immigration and civil matters through Lone Star Legal Aid, Catholic Charities, the City of Houston, and Advocates Abroad.
